About the Role:

We, at Providence  General Services seeking a Project Engineer to join our team and lead various projects, such as design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 11kV substation, as well as tie-in activities for utilities such as electrical, water, fire, telecom, and energy meters. The role also involves overseeing civil works, HVAC, ELV works, Telecom works, testing, and third-party calibration activities.

Candidates with experience in Qatar Energy, Ras Laffan, Dukhan, and Mesaieed is an added advantage, however, candidates willing to adapt to these are also welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Coordination:

• Manage the end-to-end execution of 11kV substations, ensuring proper design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Oversee design activities such as Electrical Load Calculation, Voltage drop calculations, schematic drawing, other site activity drawings, as built etc.
• Preparation of Method of Statement, JSA, ITP, Inspection reports, punch-list rectification etc.
• Oversee tie-in activities for various utilities, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with regulations.
• Handle the supply, installation, testing, configuration, and third-party calibration of energy meters.
• Supervise civil works related to tie-in activities, such as excavation, trenching, and reinstatement.
• Coordinate HVAC installations, other MEP Works ensuring proper design, performance, and integration with existing systems.
• Ensure all projects meet the technical and regulatory requirements of Qatar Energy, Kahramaa, and other governing bodies.

Stakeholder & Team Management:

• Coordinate closely with vendors, suppliers & sub-contractors to ensure timely procurement and execution.

• Co-ordinate with Qatar Energy, customer, consultants, and other authorities to for necessary approvals and handle any issues/concerns.
• Collaborate with other department to ensure smooth project flow.

Quality, Compliance & Safety:

• To ensure high standards, carry out risk assessment, quality checks, and technical assessments.
• Work together and Carry out, testing, calibration with third-party testing agencies for compliance and calibration processes.
• Assure compliance to project specifications, safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, legal requirements

Monitoring & Reporting:

• Track & monitor project progress in order to ensure timely completion within budget and quality standards.
• Prepare and present progress reports, technical documentation, and compliance records.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical challenges, ensuring smooth project handover.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical with 7+ years of experience in substation projects, utility tie-ins.
• Prior experience with Qatar Energy, Ras Laffan, Dukhan, or Mesaieed projects is a plus.
• Experienced in electrical distribution, HVAC, and civil infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Electrical Load Calculation, Voltage drop calculations, schematic drawing, other site activity drawings, as built etc.
• Well versed with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of testing and calibration procedures for energy meters.
• Well versed with HSE and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Outstanding leadership, problem-solving, & communication skills.
• Readiness to work with oil & gas environments like Ras Laffan, Dukhan, and Mesaieed
